The Bauer-Type Intra-Oral Retractor, Fiber Optic, Left (S27-105-21) is a 21cm illuminated retractor with an integrated fiber optic light channel, designed to hold soft tissue clear of the surgical field during intraoral and maxillofacial procedures while simultaneously providing direct illumination of the working area.

Why a Fiber Optic Retractor

Intraoral surgery often works in deep, poorly lit anatomical spaces where the overhead operating light cannot reach effectively around the retractor blade itself. A fiber optic retractor solves this by channeling light from a fiber optic source down the retractor and out at the working tip, illuminating exactly the area the surgeon is retracting and visualizing — eliminating shadowing from the retractor blade that a standard, non-illuminated retractor would otherwise cast into the surgical field.

Left-Side Configuration

This is the left-side version of a paired left/right Bauer-type retractor set, shaped and angled specifically for retraction on that side of the oral cavity, typically used together with its right-side counterpart to provide bilateral or alternating-side retraction during bimaxillary or extended maxillofacial procedures.

Clinical Use
