About this instrument

Hayton-Williams Forceps — Overview

The Hayton-Williams instrument (S27-188-01) is a specialized maxillofacial forceps used in orthognathic and maxillary surgery, associated with the Hayton-Williams technique lineage in bone-holding and manipulation during Le Fort and related maxillary osteotomy procedures.

Bone-Holding Function

During Le Fort osteotomy and related maxillary repositioning surgery, once the maxilla has been mobilized, the surgeon needs a secure means of grasping and manipulating the bone segment to guide it into its new position. Hayton-Williams-pattern forceps are specifically designed for this bone-holding and manipulation role, providing a secure grip on bone that a standard soft-tissue forceps could not reliably achieve.

Clinical Use

This instrument is used in Le Fort osteotomy and other orthognathic maxillary repositioning surgery, for grasping and guiding mobilized maxillary bone segments into position.

Material and Construction

Manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel and hand-finished in Sialkot, Pakistan, with jaw serrations designed for secure, non-slip grip on bone.

Sterilization and Care

Fully autoclavable. The jaw serrations should be inspected for wear during cleaning, since worn serrations reduce grip security on bone.

Ordering

The Hayton-Williams, SKU S27-188-01, is supplied by Scatter Instruments to hospitals, orthognathic surgery centers, and distributors internationally, with bulk pricing and OEM or private-label branding available on request.
