The Obwegeser Maxillary Mobilizer (S27-146-23) is a 23cm instrument used in Le Fort osteotomy surgery to complete the down-fracture and mobilization of the maxilla once the bone cuts have been made, a critical mechanical step in maxillary repositioning surgery.
After the surgeon has completed the bone cuts of a Le Fort osteotomy, the maxilla is still typically attached by residual bony connections and must be carefully, controllably mobilized — classically through a controlled down-fracture maneuver — before it can be repositioned into its planned new position. This requires a robust instrument capable of applying firm, controlled force to complete this mobilization safely, distinct from the finer cutting and elevating instruments used earlier in the procedure.
This mobilizer is used specifically in Le Fort I, II, and III osteotomy surgery for the mobilization step following the bone cuts, an essential part of the Obwegeser orthognathic surgical technique.
Manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel and hand-finished in Sialkot, Pakistan, built with the robustness required to safely apply controlled mobilizing force to the maxilla.
Fully autoclavable and intended for repeated reuse. Routine inspection for structural integrity is standard practice given the mechanical force this instrument is designed to apply.
The Obwegeser Maxillary Mobilizer, 23cm, SKU S27-146-23, is supplied by Scatter Instruments to hospitals, orthognathic surgery centers, and distributors internationally, with bulk pricing and OEM or private-label branding available on request.
