Obwegeser Osteotome, 15cm — Overview

The Obwegeser Osteotome, 15cm (S27-153-00 family) is a general-purpose osteotome within the Obwegeser instrument family, available in 2.5mm, 3.0mm, 4.0mm, and 6.0mm widths, offering a finer-scale option than the longer, wider Obwegeser osteotomes used for major Le Fort and ramus osteotomies elsewhere in this range.

Fine Width Range

Spanning 2.5mm to 6.0mm, this range is suited to finer, more precise orthognathic bone-cutting tasks, complementing the broader Obwegeser Blade Osteotome (8–20mm) used for the main sagittal split cuts.

Clinical Use

This osteotome is used in orthognathic surgery for finer, more precise bone-cutting tasks within the broader Obwegeser surgical technique, where a smaller width is called for than the main ramus osteotomy cuts require.

Material and Construction

Manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel and hand-finished in Sialkot, Pakistan, with a hardened, precisely ground cutting edge at each width.

Sterilization and Care

Fully autoclavable across all widths. The cutting edge should be inspected before each use for nicks or dulling.
