Cronin Lip And Nostril Retractor, 15.5cm — Overview

The Cronin Lip and Nostril Retractor (S25-112-15) is a 15.5cm, 14mm-wide retractor used to hold the lip and nostril tissue clear of the surgical field, particularly relevant in cleft lip and cleft palate repair and other procedures involving the lip-nostril junction, sharing the Cronin name with the matching cheek retractor in this range.

Purpose-Built for Lip-Nostril Anatomy

The junction of the lip and nostril is an anatomically complex, tightly interrelated region that many facial reconstructive procedures — particularly cleft lip repair — need to access and manipulate with precision. This retractor's specific shaping addresses that combined anatomy, rather than treating lip and nostril retraction as separate needs requiring separate instruments.

14mm Width, 15.5cm Length

The 14mm blade width and compact 15.5cm length suit the relatively confined working area of the lip-nostril junction, giving precise, localized retraction rather than the broader displacement a larger cheek or wound retractor would provide.

Clinical Use

This retractor is used in cleft lip and palate repair, rhinoplasty procedures involving the nasal base, and other maxillofacial and reconstructive surgery working at the lip-nostril junction.

Material and Construction

Manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel and hand-finished in Sialkot, Pakistan, with a smooth, atraumatic working surface suited to this anatomically delicate region.

Sterilization and Care

Fully autoclavable and intended for repeated reuse. Routine inspection for surface damage or deformation is standard practice.
