The Mellinger Eye Speculum, Solid Blade, Nasal Approach (SA-790-93) completes the three-way Mellinger blade options at 15mm — closed, open wire, and this solid-blade version — offering firm, stable retraction along a flat contact line for surgeons who prefer solid over wire construction.

Solid Blade Design

The solid machined blade provides firmer, more consistent retraction that resists flex under load compared with a wire loop, which some surgeons prefer for procedures needing particularly stable, unwavering exposure at the lid margin.

Clinical Use

This speculum is used in general anterior segment and cataract surgery, giving the surgeon the solid-blade option within the Mellinger range at the standard 15mm size, alongside the closed and open wire alternatives.

Material and Construction

Manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel and hand-finished in Sialkot, Pakistan, to the same corrosion-resistant, precisely tensioned standard as the rest of the Mellinger range.
