Materials & Grades

Ophthalmic instruments are made from surgical-grade stainless steel, with selected patterns in titanium for light weight. Tips are polished under magnification and every instrument can be steam sterilized; protect fine tips with tip guards or a dedicated tray.

Buying Guide

How to choose ophthalmic instruments: • Cannulas — match gauge and tip (straight, angled, curved) to irrigation, aspiration or hydrodissection. • Lid specula — choose wire or solid blades, blade width and nasal or temporal approach for the procedure. • Depressors — single-ended for routine examination, double-ended to carry two tip sizes on one instrument. • Fine instruments — use tip guards and a dedicated sterilization tray to protect delicate tips between cases.
