Flattened K-Wire Blade

Where a standard K-wire blade uses a rounded wire profile, this Seltzer modification flattens the wire, broadening the contact surface against the lid margin while retaining the wire's characteristic light weight and lower pressure compared with a solid blade — similar in principle to the flattened blade used on the Femto laser-platform speculum, but here applied in a general-purpose temporal-approach design.

Temporal Approach Configuration

The instrument body is positioned to clear the temporal quadrant, the standard configuration preferred for temporal-incision cataract surgery and similar approaches.
