Mixed Blade Design

Pairing a 5mm solid blade with an 11mm closed wire blade gives differentiated contact on the upper and lower lid within a single instrument — the solid blade providing firmer, more stable contact where needed, and the wire blade offering gentler, lower-pressure contact on the other lid margin, similar in concept to the mixed-blade Kratz-Barraquer design but at different sizes and in titanium.

Titanium Construction

Built in titanium rather than stainless steel, this speculum is roughly 40% lighter than an equivalent steel instrument, non-magnetic, and offers enhanced long-term corrosion resistance — properties some surgeons and facilities specifically prioritize, reflected in this design being offered in titanium as its standard configuration rather than as an optional upgrade.
