Flynn Lens Loop Scleral Depressor
$35.00

The Schepens is a thimble type scleral depressor worn on the fingertip, made in three sizes. The depressor tip sits on the thimble, so the examiner presses with the finger itself rather than through a handle.
Choose the Schepens if you prefer the direct feel of a thimble. If you would rather hold a handle and have a marking end too, see the Schocket or the O'Connor. The Josephberg Besser single ended offers a curved tip on a short handle.
Scleral depression during indirect ophthalmoscopy, retinal examination and retinal surgery, pressing gently on the sclera through the lid to bring the peripheral retina into view.
Surgical grade stainless steel, hand finished in Sialkot, Pakistan, with a smooth, atraumatic tip.
Supplied non-sterile. Clean and sterilize it before first use. It is fully autoclavable and made for repeated use. Rinse it straight after use, clean it with a neutral pH detergent, and never use saline or abrasive cleaners. Inspect the tip before each use: it must be smooth, with no burr or scratch. See our instrument care guide.
